One of several videos from our highly successful ‘Leadership, democracy and hubris’, Research Café. This well-attended event, the fourth cafe so far, was organised jointly by the Daedalus Trust and the Centre for the Study of Democracy at the University of Westminster and was held Tuesday, 4 March 2014.

“When we talk about what power does to people we need to be careful, because it all depends on how power is culturally conceived. How do people relate to power, how do they make sense of it, how do they perceive the usurpation of it, what should they be doing with it? If I was to look at Mahatma Gandhi and try to understand this enormous power this man wielded over his countrymen, what did that power do to him?”
